Police: Official’s DNA discovered at slain reporter’s crime scene

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Las Vegas sheriff’s workplace says an arrested public official’s DNA was discovered on the website of an investigative reporter’s slaying.

The Las Vegas-area elected public official was arrested Wednesday because the suspect within the deadly stabbing of the veteran newspaper reporter whose investigations of the official’s work preceded his major loss in June.

Clark County Public Administrator Robert “Rob” Telles, a Democrat, was taken into custody at his house by police SWAT officers hours after investigators served a search warrant and confiscated autos within the prison probe of the killing of Las Vegas Evaluation-Journal reporter Jeff German.

Las Vegas sheriff’s workplace officers mentioned at a information convention Thursday that DNA discovered on the crime scene matched Telles. In addition they mentioned they discovered sneakers and a straw hat at his house that matched these of the suspect captured on video.
